When Does Autopay Run, and How Long Can an ACH Payment Take to Post?

Autopay normally runs on the due date of the invoice. Once the payment is submitted, the time it takes to appear on the member's bank statement depends on how they paid.

When does autopay run?

For members who have Autopay enabled, the payment is normally initiated on the day the invoice is due. Autopay does not charge a member before the due date.

How long can an ACH payment take to post?

ACH (bank account) payments are not instant. Banks usually post the payment to the member's statement within a few days, but it can technically take up to 14 days depending on the banking institution.

When would this come up?
  • A member asks what time of day their autopay will be charged on the due date.
  • A member paying by ACH sees the payment as submitted but not yet showing on their bank statement.
  • A member asks whether a payment that has not posted yet means the autopay failed.
What to tell members

Let members know that autopay is initiated on the due date and that an ACH payment can take a few days to appear on their bank statement. If it has been longer than a few days, or if the payment shows as failed in the system, reach out to support so we can look into it.
