What is the difference between limited vs. full access in sub-admin roles?
Create Full-Access or Limited-Access Sub-Admin Roles
Also known as: sub-admin permission levels, limited admin access, assign partial admin rights, restrict sub-admin to specific items
Many HOA Start features let you assign a sub-admin role so a member can take on specific administrative duties without upgrading their membership to full Admin status. There are two types of sub-admin roles: full access and limited access.
Full Access vs. Limited Access
- Full-access sub-admin — Can work on all aspects of the feature you assign them to. Example: a full-access sub-admin assigned to Custom Forms can create forms, edit forms, and manage submission data for *any* form.
- Limited-access sub-admin — Can only work on the *specific* items you assign them to within a feature. Example: if you assign a limited-access sub-admin to Custom Forms, you must also pick which specific form(s) they can access.
How to Assign a Limited-Access Sub-Admin to a Specific Item
- Open the individual item you want to restrict access to — this can be an amenity, calendar, form, document repository folder, survey, poll, or ticketing-system form.
- In the Actions column for that item, choose Access Management.
- Activate the checkbox next to the name of the sub-admin you want to grant access to. This adds them to that specific aspect of the feature.
