Send an E-Blast Using a Custom Template

Send an E-Blast Using a Custom Template

Also searched as: message filtered members, send a mass email, community e-blast, schedule an email blast

Overview

Send an e-blast to your entire community — or just a select group of Members you search for — using a Custom Template you've created. The template determines the entire message: Subject line, text, links, graphics, and attachments.

Note: You must create your Custom Template first. See "Create a Custom Message Center Template."

 How to Start an E-Blast

  1. Click on the Membership tab, then Members.
  2. In the MEMBERS window, click the Members Actions button.
  3. Choose Message Filtered Members.

Tip: To target a specific group instead of your whole community, search/filter the Members list before opening Message Filtered Members.

How to Select and Configure Your Template

  1. In the MESSAGE MEMBERS window, activate the "Send An Email to XX Members" toggle switch. ("XX" reflects your full community count or the results of a search you performed.)
  2. Activate the Use template checkbox.
  3. Open the Select Template dropdown menu and choose the Custom Template you want to use.

 How to Schedule the Send

  1. Set the "When would you like this message to be sent?" radio buttons to:
    • Now — sends immediately, or
    • Schedule for later — click in the "Please select..." box to open the date/time picker, choose your date and time (Eastern Time), and click Set.
  2. Click Send to finish.

A green "Your e-blast has been queued" confirmation message appears. Transmission times may vary depending on overall current message volume.

 Additional Notes

  • The message-scheduling option is available whether you use a Custom Template or compose your message directly in the MESSAGE MEMBERS window.
  • "Message Filtered Members" scheduling is also available from other areas of the system:
    • Dues & Fees — on the Summary page for an individual dues item, via the "Dues Items" button.
    • One-Time Charges — on the Summary page for an individual one-time charge, via the "One-Time Charge Actions" button.
