How do I create a calendar and add entries?

How to Create a Calendar and Add Events

Calendars let communities keep members up to date. You can create simple non-recurring and recurring events — such as board and committee meetings, neighborhood garage sales, holidays, and anniversaries — complete with an event name, date, time, and brief description.

 Create a New Calendar

  1. From the Admin Dashboard, go to the Features tab, then click Calendars.
  2. Click the +Add New Calendar button.
  3. Name the calendar.
  4. Assign permissions to make it Public or Members-only.
  5. Activate Include Events if you want this calendar to also display the more complex events created in the Events feature (activities with attendee registration and ticket sales).

 Add Events to a Calendar

  1. Open the ACTIONS column's three-dots menu next to your calendar and choose View Calendar.
  2. Click +Add New Calendar Entry to open the "Add Calendar Entry" window.
  3. Enter the event name and a brief description.
  4. Select the date, and choose All-day, or enter start and end times.
  5. If the event recurs (e.g., an annual holiday or monthly meeting), turn on Recurring and set it to repeat daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly, along with the interval between recurrences (for example, every seventh day, or the third Thursday of each month).
  6. Click Save Entry.

To add more entries, repeat this process starting with +Add New Calendar Entry. Use the icons in the Actions column of the calendar window to edit or delete existing entries.

Note: Admins can create multiple calendars, each with its own event entries, and assign each calendar to a different website page. Calendars cannot be combined. Member or committee tags can be used to limit access to individual calendar pages (for example, a calendar visible only to Board members).
