Deactivate a Member

Deactivating a member turns off their website access and removes them from active membership counts, without permanently deleting their historical records (invoices, payments, ticket history, and so on stay intact).

Steps

  1. Click on the Membership tab on the vertical Dashboard menu at the left side of the screen.
  2. Click on the Members tab.
  3. Find the member you want to deactivate (use the search bar if your list is long — see Filter the Member List).
  4. In that member’s row, under the Actions column, click the Deactivate Member icon (a person with a slash through it).
  5. Confirm the action in the window that appears. Confirming immediately deactivates the member; the member’s row updates from Active to Inactive in the ACTIVE column.

What Deactivating Does

  • The member can no longer log in to the community website.
  • The member no longer counts toward your active membership total.
  • The member’s past invoices, payments, and activity history are preserved and remain visible on their profile.

Tip: To see deactivated members again, turn on the Show Inactive toggle above the member list — inactive members are hidden from the list by default.

Note: To reactivate a member later, find them with Show Inactive turned on and use the matching reactivate action in that member’s row.
