Create a Folder

Folders are the top-level containers in the Documents feature — create one for each category of file you want to keep separate, such as Meeting Minutes or Community Financials.

Steps

  1. Click on the Features tab on the vertical Dashboard menu at the left side of the screen.
  2. Click on the Documents tab.
  3. Click the New Folder button above the folder list.
  4. In the CREATE NEW FOLDER window, type a name into the Folder Name field.
  5. Set who can view the folder (see below), then click Create.

Visibility Options

  • Viewable By Public — check this to let non-members and logged-out visitors see the folder.
  • Viewable By All Members — check this to let every member see the folder. This checkbox only appears once Viewable By Public is unchecked.
  • If you leave both boxes unchecked, and your organization has committees or member tags set up, a Viewable by... dropdown appears so you can limit the folder to specific groups. If no groups are available, the folder defaults to Admin Only visibility.

Tip: A folder can’t be more restrictive than the files placed in it — for example, a Members-only folder can’t contain a file that’s marked public. If you plan to mix access levels, set the folder to the least restrictive level you’ll need, then restrict individual files further as needed.

To exit without saving, click Cancel, press Esc, or click the X in the top right corner of the window.
