Copy a Link to an Uploaded Document

Every uploaded file has its own direct web address. Copying that link lets you share the file elsewhere, or point to it from a widget on your website.

Steps

  1. Click on the Features tab on the vertical Dashboard menu at the left side of the screen.
  2. Click on the Documents tab.
  3. Click the folder that contains the file you want to link to.
  4. Find the file’s row and click the document-shaped Copy File Link icon in the Actions column.

The file’s direct link is copied to your clipboard right away — there’s no separate confirmation window. Paste it (Ctrl+V or Cmd+V) wherever you need it.

Note: A copied link only works for whoever it’s shared with if that person also has permission to view the file. If the file is restricted to members, an admin-only tag, or a committee, someone without that access who opens the link will be blocked from viewing it.
