How to Embed Images in Site Setup

In Site Setup, you can embed images directly into Contact Info and Paragraph widget elements, along with FAQ answers, and on pages devoted to Committees, Events, Amenities, and Calendars. This gives you more flexibility to showcase community images beyond the designated image widgets built into website template pages.

 Step 1: Upload the Image to Your Document Repository

All images you plan to incorporate into text areas must exist in your Document Repository first.

  1. Click the Features tab to open it, then click the Documents tab.
  2. Upload the image(s) you would like to embed.

Tips for staying organized:

  • Create a unique folder specifically for images you display throughout your website. If you plan to upload images to many web pages, create subfolders to keep photos organized and easy to find.
  • If the images will appear on pages the public can see, activate the Viewable by Public checkbox in the folder settings.

Once uploaded, click the Copy File Link action icon next to the image to obtain its URL.

 Step 2: Insert the Image into a Widget

  1. From Site Setup, load the page you want to edit.
  2. Click the Edit Contact Info or Edit Paragraph widget element to open the editor window.
  3. Place your cursor at the spot in the body copy where you want the image to appear.
  4. Click the Image icon to open the Image Properties window. (An image can accompany text in the widget, or replace all the text.)
  5. On the Image Info tab, paste the link you copied from the Document Repository into the URL field.
  6. Set the image width in pixels (height scales automatically). Optional settings:
    • Border: enter a width in pixels to add a black border around the image.
    • HSpace / VSpace: offset the image within the widget space.
    • Alignment: align the image to the left or right side of the widget area.
  7. Click OK to return to the widget element window, then click Update to confirm your settings. You can now preview the image size and placement within Site Setup.

 Sizing Reference

  • 1/3-page column: 400 px wide
  • 1/2-page: 600 px wide
  • 2/3-page: 800 px wide
  • Full-page: 1200 px wide

To account for widget edge padding, subtract 30–50 px from these totals so the image aligns with the surrounding text.

 Tip

To adjust image size, offset, or alignment after the fact, reopen Edit Contact Info or Edit Paragraph and double-click the embedded image to return to the Image Properties window.
