Ban a Member from Posting to the Newsfeed

Administrators can restrict a disruptive member from posting or replying on the Newsfeed.

Steps

1. Click the Newsfeed link on your website's main navigation bar.
2. Find a post that has at least one reply from the member you want to restrict.
3. Click the three-dot menu in that post's upper-right corner.
4. Click ban user posts.

Important Limitation

This control only ever targets the member who wrote the first reply on that specific post — it does not let you pick which member to ban, and it does not target the post's own author unless that author also happens to be the first person who replied to their own post. If the post you open this menu from has no replies yet, the option can still appear on screen, but there is no member for it to act on.

Because of this, the most reliable way to ban a specific member is to find (or wait for) a post where that member's reply is the first one, rather than assuming this option lets you target them directly from any post. There is no "unban" control anywhere on the Newsfeed page — if a ban needs to be reversed, contact HOA Start support.
