Auto Approve Members through Member Approval

If you’d rather not manually approve every new self-registration, you can switch on Auto Approve to activate new member accounts automatically as soon as they register.

Steps

  1. Click on the Membership tab on the vertical Dashboard menu at the left side of the screen.
  2. Click on the Member Approval tab.
  3. At the top right of the MEMBER APPROVAL window, toggle on Auto Approve New Members.
  4. A confirmation window appears with a disclaimer about what turning this on means for your community. Check I Understand, then click Enable Auto Approve to confirm, or dismiss the window to cancel.

Once enabled, the toggle label reads Auto Approve Enabled in red, and every new self-registration is activated automatically instead of landing in the Pending queue for review.

Turning Auto Approve Off

Click the active Auto Approve Enabled toggle again to switch it back off. New registrations will return to the Pending queue for manual review.

Important: The Auto Approve toggle is only available to communities that don’t use the Households feature. If Households is activated on your site, Auto Approve is automatically and permanently turned off and the toggle no longer appears on the Member Approval screen — every new registration must be reviewed manually from that point on.
