An Overview of the Documents Feature

The Documents feature is a central place to store and share your community’s files — governing documents, meeting minutes, financial records, photos, and anything else your organization needs on hand. Members and staff reach it from the Features menu on the left Dashboard, under the Documents tab.

What You Can Do

  • Organize files into an unlimited number of folders and subfolders that you create and name yourself.
  • Restrict who can see a folder or an individual file — to the public, to all members, to specific committees or tags, or to admins only.
  • Upload files up to 15 MB each. GIF, JPG, PNG, and PDF files preview directly on the page; other file types (like Word or Excel documents) download instead of previewing.
  • Download one file at a time, or several at once with Bulk Download.
  • Copy a direct link to any uploaded file, to share elsewhere or paste into a text widget on your website.
  • Search across all your folders, or search within a specific folder’s files.

Where to Manage Documents

  1. Click on the Features tab on the vertical Dashboard menu at the left side of the screen.
  2. Click on the Documents tab.

The DOCUMENTS window opens with a FOLDERS list on the left. Click any folder to view its contents, upload files, or manage its settings on the right.

Note: A folder’s access setting can’t be more restrictive than its own files — for example, a folder open to all members can still contain admin-only files, but an admin-only folder can’t contain a file that’s open to everyone.
